The ingredients for a great shoot: an amazing dress by New Zealand fashion designer Liz Mitchell, a stunning model, Anastasia, and a great photographer, Dario Grassi, that can use the natural light like nobody else.
To follow Dario’s vision for this shoot, we decided to keep the makeup pretty simple, with a focus on lips and let the dress be the hero.
To prep the skin I used Matakana Skincare Divine Day Cream and Red Raspberry & Rosehip eye cream.
For the base I primed Anastasia’s skin with M.A.C Prep and Prime on the T-zone and Strobe cream on the cheeks. I corrected and concealed under the eye with Bobbi Brown and I used M.A.C. Face&Body foundation to even up the skin. Lastly, I set the base with M.A.C Prep and Prime translucent powder, I dusted some M.A.C. Blushbaby blush on the cheeks and highlighted with my all time favourite Soft&Gentle M.A.C. powder.
For the eyes I started with M.A.C. paint pot in Painterly, I followed with a wash of Kryolan mat eyeshadow in Beige all over and Bamboo and RB72 in the crease. I also tightlined the upper lash line and used a few Model Rock individual false lashes to enhance the eyes.
I defined the eyebrows with M.A.C. Fluidline brow gelcream in Dirty Blonde and Billion Dollar Brow clear gel.
For the lips, my choice has fallen on one of my favourite lipsticks M.A.C Diva which I thought matched the color of the dress pretty well.
